October 16, October 23: Music Munndays
Munn Park · Lakeland
-Music Munndays, the popular free concert series held in Munn Park, will feature five weekly performances in October.
-This concert series will be held every Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
-It is a collaboration between the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority and the Imperial Symphony Orchestra.
October 17: History Center Lunch & Learn Lecture Series
Polk County History Center · Bartow
-The museum invites guests to bring lunch and listen to a guest speaker on the third Tuesday every month.
-Lectures will begin at 12:15 and last 30 - 45 minutes.
-October 17, The Carillonneur and the Archivist : Behind the Scenes at Bok Tower.
October 19: Photography Exhibit: Sensational Snapshots
College of Arts & Media Gallery · Lakeland
-The blossoming artistes of Professor Scott Wheeler’s Photography I class at Southeastern University host an exhibition of their exquisite pieces from the 2016-2017 academic year.

October 20: LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Firefighter Fridays
LEGOLAND® Florida Resort · Winter Haven
-Firefighter Fridays return to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort in conjunction with the National Fire Protection Association.
-Come kick off NFPA’s Fire Prevention Week with fun, educational activities that teach kids the importance of fire safety.
-Every Friday during the month, you’ll also be able to meet some of the real-life firefighters who help keep Polk County safe.

October 20: Bartow Friday Fest

-Main Street Bartow’s Friday Fest is a downtown Bartow block party featuring live music, vendor booths, children’s fun activities, great food, beer and other drinks.
-Also included is the Friday Fest Cruise-in Car Show with dash plaque awards for the first entrants.
October 20 - October 22: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

-Lakeland Community Theatre presents the multiple Tony Award winning classic musical thriller, Sweeney Todd; The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

October 21: Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team Show

-Members of the original Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team continue to WOW central Florida audiences, and work to pass on their water skiing skills to the next generation.
-Shows take place on Lake Silver in Winter Haven, on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
October 21: Uptown Yard Sale & Flea Market
-Bartow’s monthly Uptown Yard Sale & Flea Market is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month, along the 300 block of East Main Street in downtown Bartow.
October 21: ROOTSTOCK Plant & Garden Festival
Bok Tower Gardens · Lake Wales
-ROOTSTOCK Plant & Garden Festival is a popular annual event at Bok Tower Gardens, a top vacation spot in Florida.
-The festival will feature dozens of plant vendors, local musical artists, healthy cuisine, beer and wine garden and a spectacular display of seasonal foliage.
-Nearly 40 VENDORS from across the state will offer a variety of plants for sale including orchids, palms, tropical fruits, Florida natives, ferns, bamboo, roses, heliconias, bromeliads, tillandsia air plants, lilies and many more.
-Garden art, bird feeders, stained glass, pottery, wind chimes, lawn ornaments and other garden accessories are also available.
-Special food demonstrations will be held in the Outdoor Kitchen showcasing fabulous fall produce.
-Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden will feature nature play guides, animal encounters and additional family activities.

October 21: Polk State College Annual FallFest

-FallFest: The word conjures up a cool autumn day on Polk State College’s Winter Haven campus, filled with happy families enjoying a variety of activities.
-Thousands trek to the campus each third Saturday in October to enjoy the event that features a craft show, the Kids Zone, music, police and EMS demonstrations, the Pumpkin Patch, food, the Haunted House, and more.
October 21: Outback Oasis Butterfly Saturdays
Outback Oasis · Winter Haven
-Adventure awaits you at Outback Oasis Butterfly Saturday’s this fall.
-Wander through the Oasis’ ever-changing living ecosystem showcasing butterflies, kangaroos, birds, turtles, fish, bromeliads, orchids and hundreds of other vibrant flowering plants.

October 21: The Lakeland Auto Show & Lake Mirror Concours
Frances Langford Promenade · Lakeland
-For the past 17 years, the Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival has attracted crowds upwards of 35,000 to the streets of historic downtown Lakeland and the banks of Lake Mirror Park.
-This year, more than 750 cars of all makes, models and vintages will be, but with a few variations.
-The event will take on a new name and new elements, such as an awards ceremony downtown and a Blue Ribbon Walk, featuring some of the best examples of each of the 12 car categories.
